REFLECTIONS // ABSTRACTIONS, APRIL 15 - MAY 16, 2021 | CHELSEA ARTS DISTRICT, NEW YORK, NEW YORK, USA

SOLI CORBELLE ART presents ‘Reflections//Abstractions’, a show featuring works by a group of distinguished artists both living and deceased from across the globe that explores the medium of photography and its salient intersections with the world around us. The show features the artists Nicole Laxton, Philippe Shangti, Danny Hastings, Omar Ortiz, Dan Budnik, Axel Crieger, Mike Rosenthal, and Nero, whose works consider unexamined relationships between the aesthetics of photography and those of fashion, music, and other seemingly disparate cultural idioms. This exhibit also showcases two never before seen works from Studio R//A’s capsule collection, a fine-art project founded by Robyn Arteaga, specializing in off-beat furniture and objects made of marble and onyx stone. The dominos command the power of numerology and ascension, acting as a precursor to a series to be released in late summer 2021.

soli corbelle art presents a group show ‘Stevie and Friends: a celebration of pop culture and urban art’. Each artist showcased in the exhibition has a unique style. Stevie Chow is known for his use of vivid colors, positive phrases, and reflective resin finishes. Flore’s Urban Cubist pieces, for which he has become famous, are instantly recognizable. 1Penemy’s mugshots can be found plastered around New York City as well as in the homes of celebrities including Real Housewife Sonja Morgan, Victoria’s Secret model Candace Swanepoel, and Countess Luann De Lesseps. SeekOne’s fusion of classic collage techniques mixed with street-style wheatpaste makes for captivating images that bring in the viewer. The show is tied together due to the artist’s roots in street art and graffiti.

For her first fundraising event of the year, Soli Corbelle of LUSH Art Agency opened

her newest pop-up space on January 18th in Soho, New York . the event is in support of The New

Sanctuary Coalition, a non-profit servicing families who have been separated due to

deportation.

The New Sanctuary Coalition is an inclusive network of organizations and

individuals standing publicly in solidarity with families and communities resisting

detention and deportation in order to stay together.

The charity auction began on the night of the opening at the gallery space on 414

West Broadway. Attendees had the chance to bid on Artworks by Simon Cruz,

Flore, and Mr. Brainwash. Funds will continue to be raised throughout the duration

of the exhibition.

Influencers, musicians, fashion designers, and brands came out to support the cause. Sponsorship opportunities will continue to be available and tailored to fit a variety of budgets to ensure everybody can contribute.

Lush Art Agency Founder explains that “the reason that we decided to donate to The New Sanctuary Coalition is because I was watching the news one day and they were doing a story about a group of men that were being deported to Guatemala who were ex MS-13 members here on asylum. It was heartbreaking to watch one of them giving his last words because the moment that he lands on Guatemalan soil, he will be executed by the gang. My parents are also immigrants, alongside most of my family. If i was a child during this time, I could very much be affected similar to those who are being taken away from their families unjustly under today's administration.”
